LA CRITICA A LOS ASESORES: ¿DEMAGOGIA O IGNORANCIA?

¿Qué hacen? ¿Son necesarios? ¿Cobran demasiado?…

Desde luego, Hitler o Stalin no los necesitaban, tenían a todo el país de rodillas, a sus pies, con un aparato represor terrorífico. En general, los tiranos y dictadores no los necesitan, les basta con mantener una política represora. Tengan o no asesores, nadie osa criticar nada, so pena de dar con sus huesos en la cárcel o algo peor incluso. Da igual gobernar bien o mal, lo que cuenta es seguir al mando.

Pero supongamos qué sucedería si en una democracia occidental actual un gobierno se planteara gobernar sin asesores, esto es, con los ministros y altos cargos de libre designación: secretarios de estado, subsecretarios y directores generales, el resto todo burócratas. ¿Se vería afectada la acción de gobierno? ¿En qué medida afectaría a la ciudadanía?

Last week there was a big fire – 500 sqKm = island of Ibiza, Spain – near my place. The picture is from Jérica (Castellón, Spain), where a ‘green barrier’ of cypresses stood against that fire, with more than 90% of those cypresses alive and still green.

The Catatumbo lightening phenomena is one of the few remaining unexplained events in the world! How is it that there can be lightening on a frequent basis without thunder or any noise at all? This is the only place in the world where this occurs, and it is still scientifically unexplained!

Recession has arrived home and we do not have any model to explain it yet. Clearly, all models have failed, starting with the simpler ones, those so useful to teach at universities. Moreover, there is neither vision nor understanding of the overall picture which recession is bringing to surface. And so, patches are being laid on top of other patches, just trying to avoid the wreckage with a pathetic note of desperation and anxiety.

There is general consensus of their unavoidable responsibility on this recession and its sequels, even although most senior economists remain in their seats, with the only exception of a few bank executives. The question arises: is this of any good?
